Dr. Hussein
Dr. Usama Hussein completed his Nephrology fellowship at St. Raphael–Yale School of Medicine and advanced training in Kidney Transplantation at the Mayo Clinic.
He currently serves as President of Nephrology Associates of Tidewater and Director of Home Dialysis Programs, where he leads initiatives to expand access to high-quality peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis. He has played a key role in developing innovative home dialysis models, including Centers of Excellence and mobile training programs designed to improve patient access and outcomes.
Dr. Hussein has a special clinical interest in glomerular diseases, home dialysis, and kidney transplantation, and is a member of the practice’s Glomerulonephritis (GN) expert team. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School and is an active member of the Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
He practices primarily in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
